Who We Are

Our club is built on the belief that sports are a foundation for life. Our founder, a former competitive athlete, understands that physical and mental discipline, resilience, and a competitive mindset can translate into success far beyond the court. For that reason our club will focus on developing skilled, confident athletes, who are prepared to win club tournaments, while also learning to navigate pre-college athletics and prepare for college athletics at any level. Club members will do this by: (i) mastering teamwork, leadership, and problem solving skills and (ii) cultivating a superior work ethic that transcends the game.

We are building more than volleyball players – we are developing strong capable leaders who are ready to “rise above” in every aspect of their lives.

Why Ascension?

Built Differently. Designed to Succeed.

As a new club, we are not trying to be the biggest–we’re building to be the best. So for us, it is always quality over quantity.

As a result, we have limited positions for our inaugural teams— we are starting with a maximum of 4 teams to allow us to focus on fundamentals, leadership, and individualized development from day one.

We will be highly selective and seek athletes who bring not only talent and a winning spirit, but coachability, accountability, and a team first mindset.

Ready to Play?

Register for our Summer Skills Clinic on July 8, 2026. This allows players to experience our coaching style, training environment, as well as an opportunity to build confidence, and prepare for tryouts.

The Tryout Process

Our tryouts are structured, organized, and designed to evaluate each athlete fairly and thoroughly. Participants should expect to focus on skill development and game understanding with special emphasis on discipline, accountability, and teamwork.

  • Players receive a number and are grouped by age for organized evaluation.

  • We assess athletic potential through measurements such as height, reach, vertical jump, and speed.

  • Athletes rotate through drills focused on:

    • Passing accuracy

    • Serve receive

    • Defensive movement

  • Players are grouped by position (setters, liberos, pins) for specialized drills and direct comparison.

  • Small-sided and full scrimmages (3v3, 4v4, 6v6) allow coaches to evaluate:

    • Game IQ

    • Hustle

    • Communication

    • Ability to apply skills in real situations

Join Our Team

We are actively seeking passionate coaches, assistants, and volunteers who are committed to developing athletes both on and off the court. At Ascension Volleyball Club, we believe great coaching balances strong, disciplined teaching with empathetic and age-appropriate motivation, recognizing that many of our athletes are still growing—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

We are building something new and intentional. We value coaches who bring technical expertise and leadership, while also embracing our core principles of integrity, confidence-building, accountability, and mentorship. Our goal is to create an environment where athletes are challenged, supported, and developed into confident competitors and leaders.

We practice tough, honest coaching, but we do not publicly shame, yell, scream, or demean our players—whether in practice or during competition. Respect, composure, and professionalism are non-negotiable.
